Greyson is UNO!

I can't believe it! My baby turned ONE!

This last year has been the BEST year of my life. And even thats an understatement.
Greyson changed our whole world from the moment he entered it and we haven't looked back since.

My Favorite Things About Greyson:

-The way he puckers his lips to give me a kiss
-His dance moves
-His love for sleep
-His love for food
-His chubby feet
-His chubby cheeks
-His hilarious expressions!

12 months!

On Greyson's actual birthdate, Tanner had to be in school. So I made sure to make Grey feel special even though his party wasn't for a few days after his actual birthdate. The first thing we did was go to I-Hop just the two of us! The waitress was so cute and brought Greyson out huge pancakes (for free) with a candle and made the whole restaurant sing him Happy Birthday. And because Greyson LOVES attention and LOVES pancakes and LOVES music, he was in heaven. Then we played at the park, took a long nap, took Pancake on a walk and I tried to not tell him "no" the whole day (very difficult). I hope he felt special, even though he won't remember it.

Now to the CELEBRATION!

Preparation:

I was planning Greyson's first birthday party since before he was born... and I'm not even ashamed! I decided while he was in my tummy that his first birthday would be Mexican theme.

I went a little overboard, but I don't have any regrets! Although, to everyone...everywhere... when you think 'Oh, I can do complicated frosting for my child's cake for the first time' and 'oh I think it would be cute to make 80 rice krispie treats in the shape of a donkey'... STOP. DON'T DO IT. There may or may not have been tears shed. Preparation is not easy when you're an annoying over achiever.
But we live and we learn. And I will try to remember those things when Greyson has his 2nd birthday. Although, I'm not 100% committed to making it less complicated. Worrying, stress and almost killing myself trying to get many things done (that no one will even notice) perfectly... It's what I do best.

I made a big "chalkboard sign" for Greysons stats. It took WAY longer than expected. Like everything else I planned to do. This was the beginning...
But I was very happy with the end result :) Even though I legitimately had nerve damage in my hand for a week from writing for so much!

I made rice krispie treats in the shape of a donkey for the goodie bags. Another thing that took WAAAAYYY too long to do.

Way. Too. Long.
Goodie Bags with a "note" from Greyson attached. Inside was candy and the donkey rice krispie treats.
Greyson's cake was a labor of love. I made it out of a tin can and I was shocked when it turned out perfectly! I wanted it tall and skinny.
Sombrero cookies I made! They turned out so cute!

Greyson's frosted cake. The frosting was SO much more difficult than I thought. I'm no cake decorator. But he liked it so that's all that matters!

Greyson picking up all his balloons!

Dessert Station: Churros with chocolate dipping sauce, cookies in the shape of sombreros and in the corner of the table is goodie bags that I made.

Time capsule: Guests were asked to make various different predictions on sheets I made to put inside the time capsule for Greyson to read when he's 18. Also on this table is a bowl full of stick on mustaches for guests to wear.

Dinner: Burrito Bar with your choice of sweet pork or ground taco meat and all the fixings.

This blow up cactus served as a cooler in the bottom for all the drinks and it was also a ring toss game!

I have to say, my favorite part of his whole party was his cake. He had the FUNNIEST reaction I've ever seen and he sure put on a show! I was in tears from laughing so hard. He would take a bite, then be proud of himself and he'd cheer himself on while he chewed. It was so great.

Special thanks to my awesome Sister In Law Mckenzie for the awesome pics!

We were so blessed to have so many friends and family make the trip to come and Greyson was surrounded by so many people who love him unconditionally. He is one lucky boy!

Video of Greyson eating his cake... Haha. Never gets old. He sure loves attention.

I also made a video of all of our favorite pictures and videos from the last year. It's lengthy and probably obnoxious, but I love it and will cherish it forever. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfrNn3UNB4A

A Letter To My One Year Old.

Greyson Boy,

Over 7 billion in this world, yet one precious year ago you chose me to be your mommy.

You are everything I ever wanted plus way more than I ever could've imagined.
You make the world so much better, just by being here.

Don't ever lose your genuine and unique sweetness, your ever growing curiosity or your ability to love any stranger that passes by.

I hope you always can appreciate the little things so fully, as you do right now

Thank you for giving me the best year of my entire life...
I am much more me, when I am with you.

I can only imagine the things that lie ahead in your future, because even at just one year old, you are living life to the absolute fullest.

This is only the beginning of anything you want in life. Dream big little one and know that no matter what, I am always here for you.

•Happy Birthday Sweet Boy•

Love,
Your Mama

Sunshine for Christmas!

This Christmas was extremely busy but special, since it was Greyson's first Christmas
It was also special because Tanner's brother Cory- got married to one of the most perfect girls I know-Colbie! They got married in California so it gave the whole family an excuse to get on a plane and spend some time for the holidays in the sun!

I was nervous for Greyson's first flight, but he did amazing- sleeping most of the way!

We also got to spend a day at Disneyland (my favorite place ever) and Greyson even got to ride Pirates of the Caribbean!

After California, we flew home just in time for my SIL Mckenzie to give birth to Greyson's future BFF Crew! He is so cute!

Tanner and I spent Christmas morning just our little family and it was perfect. We made homemade donuts, and opened our little presents to each other while listening to christmas music. It was great! Greyson was mostly just excited about eating wrapping paper.

Then we headed to Vancouver to have our second Christmas with my family and we spent New Years Eve here as well. We got so spoiled this Christmas but we are so grateful!

So much traveling, so many memories, and so many pounds gained
Just the way the holidays should be!

Greyson loves Santa

Gingerbread house competition (Tanner won)

Trying to get all the grandkids to take a picture with Santa was quite interesting
